Weekly Veggie Box

$25/box *$20/box after purchasing for 4 weeks

Pick-up weekly at Chickpeace Refillery, Kelowna.  *weekday for pick up to be determined

6-7 fresh veggies weekly (see below)

Our veggie boxes don’t change a ton but just full of all of the staples!

How It Works

1. Sign up by filling out the form above! (If you have any trouble signing up, please email us)

Limited amount. Priority is given to those signed for each full season but please sign up if you just want once in awhile too! It is first come first serve. We also have a waitlist, so if someone goes away, theres still lots of opportunities. Sign up and you will get a confirmation email in 1-2 days.

2.Choose Your Schedule: How often do you think you’ll want a veggie box? If you can’t make a week or two- no prob! Just let us know dates closer to. This is a general idea to help us plan and to hold your spot, not a commitment for every week…unless you want it to be.

*Spring: June (as early as we can)

*Summer: July, August

*Fall: September-October

*Combo: After 4 weeks of purchasing veggie boxes, for the rest of the season veggie boxes are only $20

*Week to Week: I live my life week to week so if you’re not sure where you’ll be, just sign up to let us know your interested and what might work for you. Well connect closer too.

(November: weather dependent but will send out emails what’s available.) 

3. Pay Weekly or Per Season. Only pay closer to the season. We will send an email to pay for subscriptions or just weekly. Just sign up to reserve your spot!

Pay via e-transfer only. Must pay 3 days before pick up or we will not be able to plan & prepare the box.

4. Weekly Emails.  Please select ‘Veggie Box Newsletter’ box on the form. Sometimes we will send an email with general information, important updates, what’s in the box, recipes or how it’s grown.

Optional if you want to also subscribe to the Wild Gardens Newsletters, which is all about farming tips.

5. Pick Up! Once we determine a weekday, it will be the same all season (will let you know in an email). Just pop in to Chickpeace Refillery in Kelowna and they will have your veggies with your name on it.

Boxes cannot be stored after pick up date, therefore please make sure your box is picked up on time. If not, you are doing a good deed supporting local farmers and donating a box to someone in the community ;)

Zucchini

So much you can do with zucchini! Grill it, fry it, roast it.

We make a lot of stuffed zucchini boats, zucchini bread, zucchini fritters and recently discovered creamy zucchini alfredo with coconut milk. We are obsessed! The best way to use up alot of zucchini. Was so good, we wished we grew more (didn’t think we would ever say that).

Green Beans

Delicious, Sweet and Juicy!

Great pickled, raw or boiled with garlic butter!

Tomatoes! Field, Sans Marzanos & Roma Tomatoes

Perfect for Salsas, Canning, Sauces or just raw on sandwiches.

Bell Peppers

Assortment of colours to add to your plate.

Crunchy and sweet! By far my favourite vegetable to grow and eat. Always appreciate the season when we can eat fresh peppers

Roasted, Fried, Stuffed, Roasted Pepper Hummus, Raw, it’s endless!

Hot Peppers

Add some mild spice to your dishes. Dry, freeze or make hot sauces to keep spices alive all season.

My favourite is making Candied Jalapeños with local honey & pickled spicy rings for sandwiches.

Herbs

Basil & Parsley

Pesto and ChimiChurri are my stables to freeze to have all winter.

It’s overwhelming the health benefits to adding herbs into your diet! Don’t forget about these subtle but mighty leaves.

Kale

I honestly never get sick of this beautiful hardy leaf. I  appreciate it even more in the Winter, as it’s sweeter and still in abundance.

So many different Salads, Bowls, Pho, Soups, Lasagna, Pestos, Pasta, Currys, Stuffed Peppers/Zucchini, Steamed, Frittatas… literally can put kale in everything.

It cooks down so can use up a lot and absorbs all the flavour. Personally, I have to cook my kale (most of my veggies) to digest easier. I now prefer it blanched with a Japanese sesame dressing, topped with tofu and sweet potatoes/delicata squash… delishhhh

Cucumbers

Field and Pickling Cucumbers

Raw, Cucumber Salads, Pickled, Tzatziki, Relish…  there nothing is better than fresh local cucumbers when they come back in season.

Extras

Depending on season and what is fresh, you might find Romaine, Arugula, Dill, Mint, Oregano, Thyme, Chives, Beets and/or Carrots in your veggie box.

These aren’t staples but we will send out emails when we have these in season!
