Flower Care

From farm to home, keep your flowers long lasting.

Fresh Flowers

1. Trim the Stems

✂️ Everyday, cut 1–2 cm off the stems at a 45° angle.
This helps the flowers absorb water more easily.

2. Remove Lower Leaves

🌿As stems get shorter, remove any leaves that sit below the water line.
This prevents bacteria growth.

3. Use Clean, Cool Water

💧Change the water everyday or every 2nd day. Fill a clean vase with cool, fresh water.

4. Keep Them Out of Harsh Conditions

🌡️Avoid: Direct sunlight, heat & beside fruit (fruit releases ethylene gas)

5. Remove Spent Blooms

🥀Snip off any wilted blooms and leaves to keep the bouquet looking fresh and prevent rot.

6. Enjoy Long Lasting Flowers

💛 Enjoy your bouquet and the beautiful colours!

Flower food is not required. Flower food for these flowers can encourage bacteria in the water, which blocks the stems and shortens vase life.

Fresh water and daily stem trimming work best 😊

Drying Celosia & Strawflowers

Enjoy their vibrant colours fresh in a vase, or once blooms start to fade, hang them upside down to dry for lasting beauty.

To preserve them, hang the bouquet upside down in a dry, dark place until fully dried. ✨💛

  1. Remove Leaves. Removes moisture/ areas mold can stay.

  2. Keep Bunched. Keep in elastic to keep in tack as stems shrink while loosing water.

  3. Keep in total darkness and out of light to prevent bleaching any vibrant colours.

  4. Maintain airflow. Especially some dense Celosia flower heads. Keep a fan on.

  5. Hang upside down. Keeps stems straight instead of floppy.

***

Celosia may drop their seeds while drying- keep a cloth below to prevent a mess or save the seeds.

Strawflowers stores enough energy after it was cut to create seeds! If you are looking for everlasting strawflowers, choose flowers where the centre is still closed. If your strawflowers go to seed (looks like dandelions)- save the seeds.
